దేవులపల్లి కృష్ణ శాస్త్రి గారి పై పరిశోధన (Research) చేసి Ph.D పొందిన ఒక తెలుగు ఉపాధ్యాయిని మాకు చాలా దగ్గర బంధువు . ఒక రోజు వారింట్లో 1977 లో దేవులపల్లి కృష్ణ శాస్త్రి గారి ని కలిసే భాగ్యం కలిగినది. అప్పటికే వారు గొంతులో cancer వలన కేవలం సైగలు చేసి, లేదా ఒక పలక మీద తను చెప్పాలి అనుకున్నది వ్రాసి చూపించడమో చెసే వారు . ఆ రోజున వారిని కలుసుకోవడానికి చాలా మంది (ముఖ్యంగా ఆడవాళ్లు) రావడం జరిగింది. భోజనాలు అయినాక దేవులపల్లి వారు ఒక పలక మీద సుద్ద ముక్క తో ఇలా వ్రాసారు.
"మనం ఆడ వాళ్ళంతా కలిసి ఒక ఫోటో దిగితే ఎలా ఉంటుంది?" (This is an example of his spontaneous
wit and humour - His mind used to watch itself at all times).
He is such a great writer, to whom - tone, tenor and metaphor come naturally. His creations are always melodious, synchronising with nature. He must have written thousands of songs for so many Telugu films, some poetry also beyond that field. He can refine a mundane situation and paint it in a wise intellectual thought. All his songs are worth remembering and are so captivating that we keep on humming those melodies for generations to come. Though he is not among us physically now, his writings remain immortal.
